20-year-old soldier Kai Nix indicted on firearms charges, lying about insurrectionist group membership.
20-year-old active-duty soldier Kai Liam Nix, stationed at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, has been indicted on multiple firearms charges and lying about his membership in an insurrectionist group on his security clearance application. Nix allegedly dealt firearms without a license, possessed and sold stolen firearms, and lied about never being a member of a group dedicated to using violence to overthrow the US government. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison. The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Department are jointly investigating the case.
