26-year-old Billy Ray Goff, from New London, has been charged for a September 2023 multi-vehicle crash on Gold Star Bridge in Groton, seriously injuring a state trooper. Goff faces several charges, including endangering a highway worker, reckless driving, and second-degree assault. The trooper, who was working on a construction assignment, sustained fractured arm, back and neck pain, and tingling in their legs and feet.
