Weinstein, guilty in New York, returns to California prison for retrial on similar charges.
Harvey Weinstein, who was found guilty of rape and sexual assault in New York in 2020, will return to a California prison after his New York retrial on similar charges. Weinstein is currently in New York's Rikers Island prison and will stay there until his Manhattan case is resolved. His east coast conviction was overturned in June due to jurors hearing testimony from women who had accused him of misconduct but whose allegations were not part of the case. Weinstein has been serving a 23-year sentence in New York and received a 16-year sentence in California for separate rape cases.
