Vietnam actively enforces trade defense measures to protect local industries and jobs, reducing import growth.

Vietnam has actively enforced trade defense measures (TDMs) to prevent negative impacts of massive imports, unfair competition, and protect local manufacturing industries. The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has investigated 7 cases and initiated an anti-dumping probe in the first half of the year. Nearly 30 trade remedy cases have been initiated, leading to a reduction in import growth and protection of 120,000 jobs. Vietnam aims to proactively manage international trade remedies and use legal tools within WTO and FTAs to boost exports, promote domestic production, and decrease dependence on imports.
