Sri Lanka and India signed an MoU to develop a 350 MW LNG-based power plant in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka and India signed an MoU for the development of storage, regasification, and LNG supply infrastructure for a combined cycle power plant in Sri Lanka. The Sobadhanavi Combined Cycle Power Plant aims to reduce energy costs, contribute to clean energy transformation, and transition Sri Lanka to greener power generation. The 350 MW LNG-based plant will be the country's largest independent power producer and the first to operate with LNG.
