Omaha's downtown Market-to-Midtown Bikeway on Harney Street will temporarily close on Labor Day (Sept 3) for streetcar construction. A permanent bikeway funded by public and philanthropic funds is being designed, spanning 17th Street with a two-way bikeway, streetcar, buses, traffic lanes, sidewalks, and parking. The bikeway closure ensures safety during construction; completion is estimated for 2028.
