flag Idaho Fish and Game Commission approves a 9-day CWD surveillance hunt for August 24 in Unit 1.

Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved a 9-day surveillance hunt for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) starting August 24, to gather samples and assess the prevalence and distribution of the disease. The hunt will take place in a small part of Unit 1 and offer 300 white-tailed deer tags for purchase. Hunters must present the heads of any harvested deer for mandatory CWD testing. This is the first positive CWD case in north Idaho.
