From August 19 to 26, Bloor St. West and St. George St. intersection in downtown Toronto closes for a week-long reconstruction as part of safety and accessibility enhancements.
From August 19 to August 26, a major intersection in downtown Toronto at Bloor Street West and St. George Street will be closed for a week-long complete reconstruction, as part of an ongoing project to enhance safety and accessibility for all road users. The project includes road base replacement, asphalt surface replacement, sidewalk replacement with accessibility upgrades, permanent raised cycle tracks, and a protected intersection. During construction, traffic will be diverted to nearby streets, and pedestrians and cyclists can still access the intersection, with cyclists required to dismount when passing through. The work is the final phase of planned improvements along this stretch of Bloor Street West following the completion of a watermain replacement two years ago.
