7-Eleven Japan's operator receives a takeover offer from Canadian convenience giant Alimentation Couche-Tard. The offer, reportedly the largest foreign takeover attempt in Japan, has led to a surge in the stock price of Seven & I, the owner of the 7-Eleven chain. Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates over 9,000 stores in North America, is considering expanding its business to Japan.
