Chicago River Swim relocated to Lake Michigan at Ohio Street Beach due to safety concerns and permit denials.

Chicago River Swim, initially planned to take place in the river for the first time in over a century, has been relocated to Ohio Street Beach due to safety concerns and permit denials. With over 1,100 applicants, the event now aims to support ALS research, fund swimming lessons, and highlight water quality improvements. The swim, now in Lake Michigan, still includes a pre-swim boat ride on the Chicago River for participating swimmers.
