9-year-old Rumaisa Sadiq was allegedly raped and killed by a local chemist, Manir Mai, in Jaba, Kano State, Nigeria. Her father took her to the chemist's health facility for fever treatment. The chemist advised that Rumaisa needed urgent medication and should be admitted. Instead, she was raped and killed, with her parents only learning of the truth after she was taken to a hospital. The chemist was arrested and charged with two counts of rape and homicide. Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Disabled and Children, Hajia Aisha Saji, vowed that justice would be served.
