26-year-old Jack Bingley, a drunk and drug-impaired driver, was sentenced to 9 years in prison for causing the death of experienced cyclist Robert Noble, chairman of Trent Vikings Cycling Club, in a hit-and-run accident. Bingley overtook a group of cyclists, ignoring warnings, and continued driving despite striking another cyclist. His driving ban will commence upon his release from prison, and he will not be allowed to drive for five years.
