Singapore's Pacific International Lines orders 5 LNG-fuelled 13,000 TEU boxships for net-zero emissions by 2050.

Singapore's Pacific International Lines (PIL) ordered five new LNG-fuelled boxships with a capacity of 13,000 TEUs, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The dual-fuel ships, to be built at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in China, will feature optimised hull-forms, VFD motors, low-energy LED lighting, and premium hull coatings. They are part of PIL's fleet renewal strategy, targeting larger and more eco-friendly vessel types.
