Nepal has announced plans to export nearly 1,000 MW of electricity to India, marking a new milestone in their bilateral relationship. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar made the announcement after comprehensive talks with his Nepalese counterpart, Arzu Rana Deuba. The two ministers also discussed enhancing cooperation in trade, connectivity, and infrastructure during Deuba's official trip to India. The electricity export is seen as a significant milestone for both nations, who have a long-established relationship and share a border of over 1,850 km with five Indian states.
