Japanese shipping giant Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) partners with five organizations in a feasibility study on creating biomethane, derived from animal manure, as a fuel source for Japan's factories and vessels. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainability and utilize biomethane's ability to be used in existing infrastructure similar to liquified natural gas, which is currently a short- to medium-term solution for the shipping industry's emissions.
