33.5% increase in passenger traffic at AUH during H1 2024, attributed to added airlines and routes.
Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi reported a 33.5% increase in passenger traffic during the first half of 2024, with nearly 14 million passengers using its services. The airport, which facilitated over 13.7 million passengers, also recorded a 24.3% rise in flight movements, with 84,286 movements during the first half of the year. The growth was attributed to the addition of new airlines and new routes as part of an ongoing strategy to expand Abu Dhabi's aviation market. The airport's new terminal, one of the largest structures of its kind in the world, provides passengers with a seamless and innovative travel experience, incorporating biometric technology, retail and dining options, and rapid journey times. The airport is also the first and only worldwide to utilize a nine-touch-point facial recognition journey, enhancing the overall passenger experience.
