Fortescue is accused of misleading a judge to obtain search warrants against Element Zero, a Perth-based startup.
Mining giant Fortescue is accused of misleading a judge to obtain search warrants against Perth-based startup Element Zero. Fortescue sued Element Zero's directors, alleging they used confidential information gained while working at Fortescue to develop their green-iron technology. In May, Element Zero's offices and some directors' homes were raided, with computers, devices, and documents seized. Lawyers for Element Zero argue the judge was misled and was presented with incomplete information. Fortescue seeks damages or compensation, possibly including profits gained by Element Zero from the allegedly stolen technology. The hearing continues.
