Former J&K minister Taj Mohiuddin resigns from DPAP, plans to rejoin Congress ahead of assembly elections.

Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Taj Mohiuddin has resigned from the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and plans to rejoin the Indian National Congress party ahead of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. His departure is a setback for the DPAP chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad. Mohiuddin intends to contest the elections and expressed his desire for Ghulam Nabi Azad to also return to Congress. The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are scheduled for September 18 to October 1 across three phases.
