Crowley Wind Services begins construction on Salem Offshore Wind Terminal, transforming a former power plant into Massachusetts' second wind port.

Crowley Wind Services has begun construction on the Salem Offshore Wind Terminal in Massachusetts, transforming a former oil- and coal-fired power plant into the state's second wind port. The project aims to support offshore wind farm construction in New England and future floating turbines in the Gulf of Maine, creating around 150 jobs during the construction phase and emphasizing hiring local residents, particularly those from underrepresented communities. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and Salem High School will partner on career training programs.
