Businessman Jimi Wanjigi questioned by Kenyan police over alleged funding of anti-government protests.

Businessman Jimi Wanjigi was summoned for questioning by Kenyan police regarding allegations he funded anti-government protests, which began on 18 June and called for President William Ruto's resignation. His home was raided by police, who allege he funded the Nane Nane protests on 8 August by distributing money to youths. Wanjigi's lawyer criticised the government's actions, likening them to past regimes targeting Wanjigi. Wanjigi has been a vocal critic of the government since the June protests, which resulted in at least 60 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
