20 August 2024: India, Japan hold 3rd '2+2' dialogue in New Delhi to review Indo-Pacific region, expand bilateral ties, and strengthen defence partnership.

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa and her Indian counterparts, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, met for the third India-Japan '2+2' dialogue on 20 August 2024 in New Delhi. The dialogue aimed to review the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, expand bilateral strategic ties, and strengthen the India-Japan defence partnership for ensuring a free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. The talks also covered bilateral cooperation and new initiatives to further strengthen the engagements between India and Japan, as well as exchanging views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
