21-year-old Marine Cpl. Spencer R. Collart, who sacrificed his life trying to rescue Osprey aircraft pilots in a fiery crash in Australia, will posthumously receive the Navy and Marine Corps Medal. Collart, who escaped the initial crash, re-entered the burning cockpit to save the trapped pilots but tragically perished in the attempt. The V-22 Osprey plane has experienced four fatal accidents in the past two years.
