Oregon State Penitentiary inmate suspected of tuberculosis transferred to Salem Memorial Hospital for testing.
An inmate at Oregon State Penitentiary was suspected of having tuberculosis and transferred to Salem Memorial Hospital for testing. The inmate, in custody for four months, is currently isolated and undergoing testing. The Oregon Department of Corrections is working with the Oregon Health Authority to implement proper isolation, infection control, testing, contact tracing, and medical evaluation protocols. Upon completion of testing, the inmate will be moved to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility for further isolation. Full test results may take up to two weeks.
