A mother and child in Fort Kent narrowly escaped a severe accident on Interstate 95 in Dyer Brook, Maine when their car hit a deer, causing an electrical component to spark and ignite the car in flames. The 2024 Subaru Forester was burned beyond repair, but both mother and child exited the vehicle safely before the fire engulfed it. Firefighters from Oakfield extinguished the blaze, and the driver was treated for minor injuries by paramedics.
