Berrien County Collaborative, a joint effort by Berrien RESA, Lake Michigan College, and the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, secures $500k grant to develop an apprenticeship program at the former Lake Michigan College campus in Niles. The program aims to connect businesses with students, enhance apprenticeship opportunities, and create a talent pipeline for employers in the region while providing options for local youth. The Bertrand Innovation Center will serve as a hub for the initiative, which is expected to be fully operational by year-end.
