At Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, a trained Anti-Narcotics Force dog was accidentally shot dead by Civil Aviation Authority bird shooters after entering a restricted area. The dog, used for drug detection, wandered into the parking area after its cage was accidentally left open. The incident happened after the dog was mistaken for a stray by bird shooters, who were alerted to its presence near the runway by the pilot of an approaching aircraft. An investigation has been launched into the matter.
