36-year-old Singaporean man Goh Woon Tik is accused of defrauding local banks of over S$2 million by using stolen Singpass accounts to apply for loans. Between Nov 2023 and Aug 2024, Goh allegedly tricked victims into applying for loans by posing as a bank rep or car dealer, with funds disbursed to his personal accounts. Goh faces one count of cheating with a max sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine if convicted.
