27-year-old Rashad Trice was sentenced to life in prison without parole for kidnapping and murdering 2-year-old Wynter Cole Smith in Lansing, Michigan in 2023. Trice assaulted the child's mother before kidnapping and killing the toddler. Trice pled guilty to charges of first-degree murder and first-degree criminal sexual conduct and has also been fined $250,000.
