18-year-old Liam Smith of Chippenham has been sentenced to a 12-month community order, including six months of alcohol treatment and 12 mental health sessions with Turning Point, after admitting to carrying a knife for self-defense during a dispute with another resident. The court also imposed a £114 surcharge and £85 court costs, and the knife will be seized. Smith's prosecutor mentioned that he had been drinking and struggling with mental health issues following a traumatic incident from his teenage years.
