56-year-old Daniel W. Fitzwater from Spokane Valley died in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 27. Driving northbound, his vehicle veered off the road, overcorrected, and crossed both lanes before crashing on the west side. Washington State Patrol reported he was not wearing a seatbelt. The incident occurred near 46th Avenue around 7 a.m., causing partial road blockage and investigation by the state patrol.
