34-year-old Cedar Rapids man, Anthony Depolis, has pleaded guilty to attempted murder for stabbing his wife multiple times in 2020 during a mental health episode. He faces up to 25 years in prison at his sentencing on November 28. Initially found incompetent to stand trial in 2021, Depolis regained his competency in 2022. The charges of willful injury and assault displaying a dangerous weapon have been dropped due to the guilty plea.
