Saudi Arabia, represented by KACST and the National Center for Wildlife, participated in a Montreal meeting discussing a mechanism for parties to share benefits from using digital sequence info on genetic resources, including establishing a global fund. Dr. Batoul Baz emphasized Saudi's commitment to reducing biodiversity loss in line with SDGs and international frameworks, and urged fair, equitable benefit-sharing from genetic resources, calling on the international community to reduce biodiversity loss and ensure fair sharing of benefits.
