Rivian Automotive temporarily suspends Amazon delivery van production due to parts shortage.

Electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive has temporarily suspended production of its Amazon delivery vans due to a shortage of parts, impacting its factory in Normal, Illinois. The company expects to recover all missed production, with Amazon sales accounting for 19% of its revenue in 2023. Although the production of consumer pickup trucks and SUVs is not affected, Rivian's shares dropped by 5.5% on Friday following the announcement. The company has an agreement to supply Amazon with 100,000 vans by 2030, out of which about 15,000 are already in use.
