Poland aims to host Summer Olympics in 2040 or 2044, following 2024 Paris performance.

Poland's Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, has announced that Poland is aiming to host the Summer Olympics for the first time in 2040 or 2044. The decision follows the country's disappointing performance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where it won only one gold medal. Tusk dedicated the decision to today's 10-, 12- and 15-year-olds and pledged investments to renovate and expand youth sports training facilities. Poland has co-hosted the European Football Championship in 2012 and hosted the European Games in 2023, but has never hosted an Olympic Games.
