Maersk plans to invest $2bn in Pakistan's port and transport infrastructure over 2 years.

Danish shipping giant, Maersk, plans to invest $2bn in Pakistan's port and transport infrastructure over the next two years, as a result of efforts by the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The investment includes a $250m project by Abu Dhabi Ports Pakistan announced last month. Maersk's investment is expected to increase Karachi's export potential and bolster the Maritime Affairs ministry's goal to provide an enabling environment for the business community.
