Environment Canada issues severe weather watches, including tornado potential, for southern Ontario due to favorable conditions.
Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm and tornado watches for parts of southern Ontario, including Brant and Oxford counties, due to favorable conditions for storms potentially producing tornadoes. The storms could bring strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain, with possible tornadoes having wind gusts up to 90 km/h and toonie-sized hail. The weather agency advised residents to be prepared for severe weather and take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm watches were also issued for Norfolk, Haldimand, and Elgin counties.
