An endangered Barbary macaque escaped from Salem Monkey Mountain wildlife park in Germany.
A Barbary macaque, an endangered species with under 8,000 global population, escaped from Salem Monkey Mountain wildlife park in Germany. It cleared the enclosure fence by jumping from tree to tree, and was last seen near Uhldingen-Mühlhofen, 3.5km from the park. The park manager, Roland Hilgartner, suspects the macaque could survive outside for some time due to its ability to find food in the wild.
