Chester Zoo plans to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 through green technology implementation.

Chester Zoo plans to become the first UK zoo to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 by implementing new green technologies across its 92 buildings on 128-acre grounds. The zoo is initially replacing kerosene boilers in the black rhino enclosure with heat pumps, which provide a stable temperature range. Chester Zoo aims to set an example as a global conservation and education charity, addressing climate change and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
