Assam's disaster management authority and Geological Survey of India (GSI) signed an MoU to implement a pilot landslide early warning system in Assam. Initially focusing on districts Dima Hasao and Cachar, the system aims to tackle landslide issues affecting lives, homes, and infrastructure in hilly regions. This collaboration also involves launching GSI's "Bhooskhalan" app to enhance predicting and mitigating landslide disasters through cloud sourcing.
