Ashok Leyland, an Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, anticipates single-digit growth in its MHCV sector in FY25 and has noticed a rise in inquiries for electric trucks from FMCG and e-commerce companies. Despite the electric vehicle demand, the total cost of ownership for electric trucks remains high. The company plans to introduce 500 electric and alternate fuel trucks, including LNG vehicles, this year and does not expect a significant impact on the commercial vehicle industry due to the Bangladesh crisis.
