Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China leads the nation with a 103% surge in new energy capacity in H1 2021, thanks to strong winds and abundant sunlight. Investment in wind and photovoltaic power generation projects showed a 37% year-on-year increase, contributing to 15.7% of fixed-asset investment. PV power investments account for over 70% of new energy investments with a 36.5% growth rate. By 2023, Xinjiang will transmit 210 billion kWh of clean electricity to other regions, reducing carbon emissions by 171.52 million metric tons.
