Virginia Governor Youngkin unveils executive order to reduce recidivism by improving education, employment, and support for ex-prisoners.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin unveiled an executive order focusing on cutting recidivism by enhancing educational opportunities, employment support, and access to support systems for former prisoners. The order includes a task force to monitor reentry progress and directs the state Department of Social Services to designate a statewide reentry coordinator. Despite concern over high recidivism rates, Youngkin's efforts have already helped 3,000 former inmates find work and 7,000 gain access to health insurance.
