Sri Lankan cricketer Chamari Athapaththu signs a three-year WBBL contract with Sydney Thunder.

Sri Lankan cricket captain Chamari Athapaththu has signed a three-year contract with Sydney Thunder for the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). The contract is under the league's new multi-year contract system, enabling Athapaththu to play for Sydney Thunder for the next three seasons. Last year, Athapaththu was the second highest run-scorer in the league and received the Player of the Tournament award, as well as the Alex Blackwell Medal.
