Iranian military adviser, Colonel Ahmadreza Afshari, died from injuries in a US-led coalition airstrike in Syria.

Iranian military adviser Colonel Ahmadreza Afshari, a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, died from injuries sustained during an airstrike by the US-led coalition forces in Syria. Afshari was serving as a military adviser in Syria when he was injured in an aerial bombardment and was transferred to Iran for treatment. The US-led coalition has not commented on the incident. Iran claims its military personnel are in Syria only in an advisory capacity, at the Syrian government's request.
