A beloved wild mountain goat named Garry, living in Lithgow and Blue Mountains communities, gained local fame and attracted travellers along Mount Victoria Pass. Garry was tragically hit by a car and euthanized due to severe injuries. The community mourned his passing, sharing memories and experiences of him on social media. State Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole, also acknowledged Garry's impact and Hartley Valley Vet plans to donate a memorial plaque in his honor, with the location to be determined by the local community.
