2 Alaska State Troopers charged with assault due to mistaken identity incident involving excessive force.
Two Alaska State Troopers, Sgt. Joseph Miller and Trooper Jason Woodruff, have been charged with assault in a case of mistaken identity. The troopers mistakenly identified Ben Tikka, the cousin of the man they were seeking, as the wanted suspect, Garrett Tikka. The troopers used excessive force on Ben Tikka, including pepper spray, beatings, a police dog, and a Taser, causing him severe injuries, including a fractured shoulder, cuts, and a dog bite. The troopers have been placed on administrative leave and are scheduled to appear in court on September 10th.
