The extension authorizes up to 72 additional boats to receive overhauls and upgrades through order years 6-10, showcasing the Coast Guard's confidence in Birdon's capabilities. Since 2019, Birdon has delivered 19 47' MLBs and has another 19 undergoing SLEP.
