Two men, Jaeden Tito and Rabii Abram Zahabe, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Melbourne gangland figure Gavin "Capable" Preston, who was shot dead in September 2023 outside a cafe in Melbourne's northwest. Their cases were fast-tracked to the Supreme Court in Australia. Preston's associate, Abbas Maghnie, was also shot but survived. Both accused men appeared via video link from prison and chose to have their cases fast-tracked to Victoria's Supreme Court, where they will appear on September 2.
