Researchers at UC Irvine develop highly sensitive color-changing nanoscale thermometer material.

Researchers at University of California, Irvine developed a nanoscale material that changes color with temperature, potentially revolutionizing nanoscale thermometry. The material, discovered by Maxx Arguilla's team, is 10 times more sensitive than current optical thermometers used in fabricating computer components. The researchers plan to test other nanoscale materials to develop thermometers with a wider temperature range.
