Police officer accused of assaulting disabled e-hailing driver in Kuala Lumpur faces disciplinary action and criminal investigation.
The Inspector-General of Police announced disciplinary action against a police officer who allegedly assaulted a disabled e-hailing driver in Kuala Lumpur in May. The officer, from Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's police escort team, is also being investigated under the Penal Code for causing voluntary hurt. The victim, Ong Ing Keong, a deaf driver, shared a dash-cam video of the incident. Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim urged police to thoroughly investigate the case and called for justice for the victim.
